Exclusive: Commonwealth Sport President resigns after ethics case published
The Commonwealth Games seemed to be on the road to recovery but has now been hit by the resignation of its President Chris Jenkins following the publication of an ethics case on its website
There has been a shock resignation at Commonwealth Sport where Welshman Chris Jenkins has stood down as President after less than two-years in the position. It followed a decision of the Commonwealth Games Federation Ethics Commission being published on its website.
Donald Rukare, President of the Ugandan Olympic Committee, has been installed as the Interim President with a permanent successor expected to be appointed at the next General Assembly in November 2025.
“I am particularly proud of the opportunities I have been given to advance Sport for Development - and especially Para inclusion through our GAPS programme - and want to thank all my Commonwealth Games Association colleagues and friends for their support,” said Jenkins.
