The publication of the Olympics schedule is an exciting milestone, while there is plenty else going on as preparations for LA28 continue to ramp up

Triathlon is to provide the first gold medallist of the 2028 Olympics in Los Angeles, Organising Committee officials have announced.

The first medal event of the Games is scheduled for a 7.30am start at Venice Beach on Saturday July 15, 2028. “World Triathlon will work closely with LA28 to provide an exciting and thrilling competition that will captivate millions of viewers worldwide and draw hundreds of thousands of passionate spectators to the streets of Venice Beach,” World Triathlon President Antonio Arimany said.

“We are looking forward to three unforgettable days of competition in Venice Beach but especially to have the honour of awarding the very first medal.”
